Friedrich Wilhelm Brinkmann began a clothing workshop in Löhne, near Herford, in 1947, and within a year was making his own coats and trousers. The bugatti brand was launched in 1978 and was for many years a specialist in men’s fashion; womenswear followed in 2011. Still family-run, today’s bugatti Holding Brinkmann is one of Germany’s larger clothing houses.
A note on the name: this is the German fashion label — no relation to Bugatti Automobiles of Molsheim. The clothing house pairs a continental sense of line with sober German make.
